My Background
Hello! Welcome to my site. I'm glad you're here. Before I tell you about what I do, let me tell you a little about me. I love to laugh, humor is so important and I love making people laugh, smirk and groan with a terrible pun or "dad" joke.
There have been lots of twists and turns in my career. Starting as a lifeguard and swim teacher I learned that helping people learn and grow was incredibly rewarding. After college I moved into the tech sector (it was 1999) and worked in account/project management. By the time my mid-30s hit (and another tech downturn) I realized my skills might be better served where I wanted to be all along, mental health. And so...here I am.
My hope is to continue exploring, uplifting, advocating and growing. I believe in creating safe spaces for others to explore themselves with grace, humility and caring, and some fun too!
Treatment Focus
Therapy is an individualized experience. It is important to provide a custom experience for every person I work with. My goal is to meet you where you are and provide a safe, caring and honest space with an emphasis on creating authenticity and personal growth. Wading through all the different therapeutic modalities can leave you feeling adrift in a sea of jargon and acronyms. I utilize different techniques based on your needs.
My main go-tos are; acceptance and commitment therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, trauma informed treatments, somatic experiencing, internal family systems and psychodynamic.
